Will There Always Be an “American” Way?
None of our cherished American traditions will survive
if radical Islam has its way.
The American Way. Bold. Assured. Virtuous. Self-confident. Its mention has always carried a transcendent sense of permanence. Most American children grow up with an unconscious belief in the implausibility that one day there would NOT be an American Way.
But a slim sliver jet roaring full throttle toward the North Tower changed that forever on a bright New York September morning. Suddenly a clutch found its way to the throat of every American. At once American culture was fully engaged with an angry, evil, and radicalized Islamic militancy it scarcely understood.
Struggling to comprehend the “why” of the attack, we were staggered again by who was responsible. After all, a culture that believed in the nobility of detonating children for the sake of their God couldn’t possibly claim to be a culture. Shock and awe hit us first.
Of all the threats to our unalienable right to life, and liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, radical Islam is by far the greatest. Their goal is not just defeat but domination. Human Rights. Civil Rights. Diversity. Free Speech. NONE of our cherished American traditions will survive if radical Islam has its way. Want proof? Study history. To an ideology willing to sever heads, kill children, and detonate women as a means to force our surrender, there is no middle ground. They win. Or we win. Period.
Sadly, for all the talk of taking the fight “over there,” the enemy also lives among us: Appeasement; tolerance; vacillation; apathy; surrender. The harsh truth is that Strength opposes evil but Weakness finds a way to live with it. “How soon can we quit?” is surely the question of cowards. But it’s NOT the American Way.
We didn’t quit against Nazism. Or Fascism. Or Communism. So we must fight radical Islam or simply accept that we will no longer have an American Way. If you’re not helping to win, you’re helping to lose. It’s that stark a contrast. Evil has no shades of gray.
If we won’t fight for our freedom we will lose it. Will you stand with us as we fight?
